WORKING IN AUSTRALIA
In order to legally work in Australia you must either :

  • be an Australian Citizen
    or
  • be a Permanent Resident
    or
  • have a valid work Visa.

Scott Merrick Associates has been a 'Standard Business Sponsor' (SBS) with the Australian 'Department of Immigration & Multi-Cultural & Indigenous Affairs' (DIMIA) since May 1998. Since this date we have sponsored (thus employed) many overseas ICT Professionals to work in Australia.

  • These Sponsees have been from all over the world including : England, Scotland, Ireland, USA, Canada, South Africa, India and Fiji.

    SPONSORING CANDIDATES
Sponsoring overseas ICT Professionals is achieved via the 'Temporary Long Stay Business Visa Sub-Class 457'. Length of sponsorship can vary from as little as 13 weeks to as long as 4 years. Successful sponsorship can only be achieved under certain conditions, primarily when a key activity / position is in local demand and cannot be filled by a local ICT Professional. Following this if the Candidates skill set

matches this local demand and a current ICT job requirement exists, then a Candidates availability and ability to relocate to Australia are assessed and if all favourable then potentially this Candidate could be sponsored.
