LICENCES
AND
FUEL (GAS)
Australians drive on the left hand side of the road. The general speed limit in Cities / Towns is 60km/h (37.5mph), with 100 to 110km/h
(68.75mph) on highways / motorways. Each State / Territory has its own jurisdictions to determine special local speed zone limits
(eg. a 50km/h speed for a "School Zone"). Australia's networks of road / highways / motorways are well signed and
reasonably user-friendly. Strict safety laws apply in Australia and these should be investigated prior to driving. Including it being
compulsory to wear a seatbelt and a if riding a motorcycle a helmet.

Driving Licences
Tourists may drive in Australia providing they hold a valid overseas drivers licence for the same class of vehicle. Licences must be held by
the individual whilst driving as well as a
valid passport.
Fuel (Gasoline)
Unleaded, Premium unleaded, Diesel and LPG grades of fuel are sold in Australia by the litre. Petrol costs between A$0.99 - A$1.25 per litre.
Prices are usually higher in the inner-city and country areas. Fuel (Service) stations are in abundance with varying trading hours. Most
stations accept international credit cards.
