LANGUAGES
The official language spoken in Australia is English. However, due to multiculturalism, it is common to encounter,
especially in Sydney and Melbourne, many languages frequently used. As most Australians are only too ready to offer
friendly assistance, visitors should not hesitate in asking for help if there is any difficulty in communication
being experienced.
CLIMATE
Australia is world renowned for climatic zones which present impossibly blue, sunny skies at one end of the country and

pristine snow capped mountains at the other.
In the north, above the Tropic of Capricorn, roughly 40 percent is in the tropical zone. The remainder of Australia is
classified temperate zone.
Due to Australia's immensity however, there are variations within the two broad climatic zones.
Generally, the temperate zones experience all four seasons, where as the tropic zone has but two (summer "wet"
and winter "dry").

Australia's seasons are directly opposite to those of the Northern Hemisphere. They are as follows :
Summer (Dec to February);
Autumn/Fall (March to May);
Winter (June to August);
and
Spring (Sept to November).
